CSR Professional of the Year Award to Dr Neelam Gupta, Founder & President of AROH

Dr. Neelam Gupta, President and CEO of AROH Foundation have been honoured with the prestigious “CSR Professional of the Year Award" at the CSR Times Awards 2019 in Delhi in presence of renowned politician Mr Sunil Shashtri and H.E. Yogesh Punja, High Commissioner at Fiji High Commission.

The award has been conferred for her outstanding professional achievement and social contributions towards socio-economic upliftment of several thousands of poor, marginalised and unreached populations in slums and remote rural areas through education and livelihood programmes at the function held on 18 September 2019 at India Habitat Centre.

AROH Foundation was conferred with "Best NGO in Skill Development" award by ASSOCHAM in the National Summit cum awards in Skill Development event held in Ranchi on 7th June, 2019 by honorable Shri CP Singh (Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Transport, Government of Jharkhand) and honorable Shri Saryu Rai (Minister for Food and Civil Supply, Government of Jharkhand) along with other eminent jury members.

AROH Foundation conferred with ‘Innovative Practices Award 2019’ by GCNI

NGO AROH Foundation was awarded the prestigious “Innovative Practices Awards 2019 for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” for its extraordinary contribution towards the social causes under its Holistic Rural Development Programme which is being implemented under CSR support of HDFC. The Award was presented to Dr Neelam Gupta, Founder & CEO, AROH Foundation at the United Nations Global Compact Network India 14th National Convention on 31st May 2019 in Mumbai.

Mr Renata Dessallien, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative & Bibek Debroy, who is currently serving as the Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and a part of Niti Ayog along with other eminent members conferred the award to Dr Gupta.

On the occasion, Dr Gupta said, "Achieving the SDGs is no more a matter of choice but is imperative for all if we want our nation to progress. In fact, achieving SDGs is critical to our survival on the planet. AROH is committed to addressing all 17 SDGs through its various multi-sectoral initiatives and grassroots interventions.

The Summit also held day-long deliberations and reflections by the thought leaders on the Sustainable Development Goals. Various organizations across India including Public and Private Sector Enterprises, Multinationals, MSMEs, NGOs, Entrepreneurs and B-schools were invited to submit case studies showcasing their efforts and initiatives implementing CSR and Sustainability initiative aligned with one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

AROH Foundation is well recognized for its pioneering programmes in sectors of Education, Livelihoods, Health and Sanitation and Renewable Energy. The Foundation is contributing towards rural development and successfully implementing integrated village development programmes in more than 100 villages across multiple states of India. AROH has directly benefitted more than two lakh needy persons through its various programmes in the past decade. The NGO has become a preferred impact partner for several corporate wherein it provides integrated development solutions to key CSR projects in our country.

Women Economic Forum (WEF) is a prestigious global platform that fosters conversations, community, connections and collaborations among women worldwide. The event helps in enabling an ecosystem of exchange, sisterhood, inspiration and propelling women's economic empowerment and influence in ALL walks of life.

Dr Neelam Gupta, President & CEO of AROH Foundation, participated in this years WEF held on 15th April’19 at Vivanta by Taj , Dwarka Delhi and was one of the panelist speaker during the event. Dr Gupta shared her thought provoking views & initiative towards the disdained but crucial agenda of Reclaiming our Public Spaces with Security. She reiterated, “Public spaces are the heart and soul of cities and citizens. They should be reclaimed and preserved to maintain the sanctity of places, their cultural roots and traditions. They must be safeguarded for women to freely access all public areas and spaces.”

She was also conferred upon with prestigious “Iconic Women creating a better World for all” for various initiatives and path breaking work done by AROH Foundation under her leadership.

The event was graced by many dignitaries from all walks of life from all over the globe. Heartfelt and stimulating discussions on how to make the world a better place to live were addressed through various discussions and channels during the event and invoked enough food for thought for all stalwarts to pause, rethink and redesign.

India CSR Leadership Summit is one the prestigious and biggest representing forums for CSR in India for the year 2019. CSR Act completed 5 Years on 1st April, 2019, on this occasion; India CSR Network organized a day long mega India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards (Giving Back Leadership Summit) in PHD House, New Delhi on April 1st, 2019. Dr Neelam Gupta , (President & CEO , AROH Foundation) was one of the panelist speaker during the event and shared her thought provoking views on Challenges, Experience, Knowhow, Methodology, Impact that AROH has witnessed working in the society over the last 5 years under CSR mandate. She was also conferred upon with prestigious “Most Impactful CSR Leader 2019” award during the event by renowned actor and philanthropist Mr Rahul Roy. The event was also solicited by national and international experts like Dr. Rene Schmidpeter (Director, Center for Advanced Sustainable Management), Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee also known as Father of CSR in India, who shared their thoughts and ideas on CSR trends and perspectives. Stimulating discussions over responsible business, sustainable development & way ahead were introduced to the audience during the event and invoked enough food for thought for all stalwarts to pause, rethink and redesign.
